🥂 A Downtown New American Tavern

Located on the 1200 block of Broad Street, Frog Hollow Tavern is one of Augusta's most celebrated dining destinations. Chef Sean A. Wight's farm-to-table menu leans on locally and regionally sourced seasonal ingredients, with standout dishes like the cowgirl ribeye, dayboat grouper, and dirty Carolina gold risotto arancini. The wine list runs over a hundred bottles deep with a focus on sustainable and biodynamic producers, and the cocktail bar features barrel-aged creations alongside classics made with fresh-squeezed juices. Open Wed-Thu 5-10 p.m., Fri-Sat 5-10:30 p.m. Reservations recommended.

Why It Matters: This is Augusta's biggest week of the year. Downtown businesses are seeing their annual surge, and construction on Broad Street has been paused to accommodate the influx.

🏗️ Broad Street Construction Gets Accelerated Timeline, Paused for Masters

The Gist: The city released a finalized schedule for the Broad Street Improvement Project, accelerating the timeline with a mid-December 2026 completion target. Why It Matters: The project will bring a James Brown Linear Park, raised bike lanes, expanded sidewalks and a new tree canopy to downtown. But overlapping work means more blocks under construction at once and tighter parking.
