If you’re looking for some zen in your life, GVO Studios yoga has been so relaxing. It’s right across the river in downtown NA. The beginner class is a judgement free zone and great time to get centered. Highly recommend if you’re stressed! ✌🏼I almost fell asleep during savasana today. (Class schedule/pricing is on mind body app, but about $15 to take an individual class)

After getting double hip (left and right) surgery 4 months apart, I reached out to Cat, the manager at GVO Studios in North Augusta, South Carolina for recovery advice. My legs had atrophied and my mobility was severely restricted from the surgeries. The exercise routines from my doctor provided some help, but I was unable to break through the post-surgery barriers. Cat recommended two yoga classes she felt would help me regain both my strength, flexibility and mobility. Sure enough, within 3 months I had significant improvement. Cat and the other instructors, Christina, Sharon and Ashton were outstanding. They focused on me during the classes to ensure I was not pushing myself too hard, and offered alternative moves until I was able to do them fully. Cat checked-in on me from time to time to make sure I was getting what I needed and when the time came, she recommended other Yoga classes to further advance my post-surgery recovery. When I had my follow-up appointment with my orthopedic doctor, they were amazed at how well I had advanced and gave me an A+ for my current mobility and strength test. I can’t recommend GVO enough. Very clean and professionally run.

I attended 2 classes today. My first class was amazing, that's the reason for 2 stars. All classes I have taken before today have been great. My second class was Pilates with Melanie, which was terrible. I was already in the class from the previous class. My position never change nor did she asked me to reposition at the start of class. Exercises, today, needed wall space and they have 2 big windows, which is space no one can use. Leaving everyone else to filled up the back wall, I had to reposition twice to accommodate 2 additional people and she made a comment about not helping and there's enough space for everyone. I'm new to the studio, so i didn't feel comfortable moving their things. She didn't seem to care that i was affected and being new, I'm not familiar nor comfortable with the moves yet. At the beginning of class, she stated make sure you have enough space to spread your arm and legs. After the 2nd repositioning, i was not able to fully extend any limbs. I was following her guidance. She shouldn't assume everyone is ok with being so close to other people. I shouldn't have to be inconvenience when someone is late. I was very uncomfortable and left the class early. I was starting to leave a review on their booking site, but i guess they remove me from the roster because the class disappeared and I couldn't review the class anymore. Suggestion: Maybe there should be 2 pilates classes, so we wouldn't have to be so close.
