Martinez Animal Hospital

I have been with Martinez Animal for many years, they have been wonderful and accommodating. However, long story short… our baby had vertigo, we didn’t know that til we took her another vet. She has been getting her 3 different pills a month for about 3 years now. Today, bc order is pending with chewy. I called the animal hospital and they told me., oh we no longer deal with third-party companies, such as chewy. Those may not have been the exact words, but that sums it up so I said I just need her medicine her meds, can we get them filled there? She told me yes so I told her what I needed. My husband went to pick it up. They ran his card and then said oh we’re out.. so now my dog is out of her for congestive heart failure medicine for day four. So now they hand my husband a handwritten prescription telling him we can get it filled in any pharmacy. Well, the prescription is written for 50 mg the pharmacies carry in 40 and 60 mg. so my husband says well just fill it in 40 mg and we’ll figure it out make it right no, you need a new prescription.. so after many years of using Martin’s animal Hospital, we are now taking our business to Grove veterinary clinic. And I give them two stars for previous great treatment. Current care is just not good.

Based on my experience they are the best Vet in Augusta. My boyfriend and I adopted a kitten last year and it has been vet visit after vet visit. For worms, FeLV/FIV testing, allergies, vaccinations, spaying, worms again, etc. She is also a very spicy kitty who doesn’t like to be handled. The staff at Martinez have been outstanding in care, and extremely understanding/empathetic for all of my worries and concerns. Dr. Robillard is the only vet I know by name there but they are all absolutely amazing. If you have a fur baby and are looking for above average care and high quality of service I highly recommend taking them here!!!!

Very disappointed with Martinez animal hospital. I’ve been a customer for over 30 years. I’ve spent tons of money with them. I called to get info on steps to diagnosing IVDD. Whether there was an in person hands on way to diagnose or if an xray would show or if the only way to determine was an MRI ( which they don’t offer). I could not get a vet to call me back just to tell me the direction I need to go. The front desk girl was very rude, very short, and very unhelpful. All the vet had to do was return a call and say yes we can do a neurological exam on site and go from there and I would have been up there ASAP. Then I call to other vets in the area ( that have never seen any of my animals, I’ve never spent a dollar with them) and they are more than willing to discuss my options and paths of diagnosis and treatment options knowing how critical time is. After 30 longs years of loyalty I will not be using a vet clinic like Martinez animal hospital. Strangers showed more concern for my animal and offered up any info they could give me. Very sad
