Planet Fitness

I’ve been coming to this Planet Fitness for two years. The location is great, it’s clean, and the staff are usually very nice and polite. The only consistent issue I’ve had is with the manager, Dominique. Every interaction I’ve had with her has been unpleasant. Her attitude is nasty and it’s the passive, “nice-nasty” kind that makes you feel uncomfortable without her ever being outright disrespectful. That’s honestly worse. I would rather someone just be direct than pretend to be sweet while clearly having an attitude. Most recently, my gym partner tried to upgrade her membership at the front desk. Dominique kept insisting she download the app and do it herself, even after my partner repeatedly said she wanted to handle it at the desk. Dominique complained about it being “a lot of work” and referenced system issues, instead of just assisting her. Upgrading a membership should not feel like an inconvenience to management. I’m not the only person who feels this way she just hides it well. But as a long-term member, it’s exhausting to consistently deal with that type of energy from someone in a leadership role. Other than that, this is a great place to work out, especially when she’s not there.
